“Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of DTPa-HBV and Hib vaccines given mixed or separately to 360 healthy infants at 2, 4, and 6 months of age.

Methods: Immune memory was assessed in lower responders (post-primary anti-PRP < 0.545 mu g/ml),

through administration of plain polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP) at 12-15 months. All subjects received a DTPa-HBV/Hib booster at 18-19 months.

Results: One month after primary vaccination, 98% had seroprotective antibody levels against HBV and 94-97% against Hib (anti-PRP >= 0.15 mu g/ml). A statistically significant difference between groups was observed in the proportion of subjects who achieved anti-PRP antibodies >= 1.0 mu g/ml post-primary vaccination; 68.1% for DTPa-HBV/Hib and 84.5% for DTPa-HBV and Hib. PRP administered to lower responders produced a 7-fold increase in anti-PRP antibodies, indicative of immunological selleck chemicals memory. paper reports a simple, fast, and inexpensive method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in edible oils. The sample was dissolved in solvents, and a portion of the solution was loaded onto a solid phase extraction cartridge. The oil from the cartridge was washed away by isooctane/cyclohexane mixture and the absorbed PAHs were eluted with hexane/ dichloromethane mixture. GC-tandem MS was used to analyze 15 PAHs of EU priority in sesame oil and perilla oil. Analytical

limits of determination (LOD) were 0.01-0.06 mu g/kg, limits AZD3965 of quantitation (LOQ) were 0.03-0.17 mu g/kg, and the recovery values ranged 55.1-105.0%. This method was validated using the certified reference material (CRM) and the error values ranged 2.06-4.30%. Twentyone commercial samples were analyzed to determine their PAHs contamination levels.
